Online: 404 Item Locations: Weapons, Tools, Power Banks and Car Parts

Updated 17 Oct 2026 · Game version: June 2026 demo (Steam Next Fest)

The demo of Online: 404 covers a small part of Leminsgale County: the starting area, St. Bunny’s Motel and the smugglers’ camp by the river. This page lists what was found where. After a restart some loot is random, but the fixed items stayed in the same places.

Demo note: the Early Access map is much bigger. We will expand this page and re-check every spot at launch.

Starting area

  • Abandoned car next to the starting tent: a double-barreled shotgun (“a classic solution to close-range problems”) and 25 shells. Grab it first.
  • Around the start: canned sardines and sprats, soda, a jar, stones, a mushroom (don’t eat it), a car battery, empty tin cans, lockpicks, duct tape.

St. Bunny’s Motel

Follow the road from the start to the “MOTEL” sign. The motel is the main hub of the demo, and Charlie’s first objective sends you here: “Find an axe in the motel and message Charlie.”

  • Ground floor and yard: lockpicks, car battery, tin cans, cookies, echinacea (“grandma-approved apocalypse medicine”), cloth scraps, apple juice, a jar, a metal axe, a knife, bandages, a toolbox, a bed you can sleep in. A screwdriver and a medkit couldn’t be picked up at first.
  • Locked room (needs lockpicking, see search terms): a gas cylinder (“heavy, dangerous, and suspiciously tempting to shoot”), chamomile, an axe, a sturdy hammer.
  • Guest rooms: chamomile seeds, a desk lamp, a discharged phone, cloth scraps, food and drink, a usable bed, a gas cylinder, a metal axe, junk. Room loot boxes are called “Loot” and hold 5 items.
  • Upstairs: a Glock 17 and ammo, a Glock silencer (“makes crime scenes slightly more discreet”), a Strange Thing (“a strange glowing object, it seems to be pulsing”) next to a spirit board and candles, Kevin’s note, a discharged phone. The “Grandma” voice that asks for cigarettes is up here too, with a “Grandma’s Box” in the corridor for deliveries.

Smugglers’ camp (by the river)

Charlie mentions it: “There used to be a smuggler camp nearby, close to the river.” Look for the plank fence and the tents; the raised beds are growing weed. The camp has the best power gear in the demo:

  • power banks (“holds potential, but not electricity, you can charge it at a charging station”)
  • a propane tank
  • a generator
  • a solar panel
  • a rake, cloth, stones, seeds
  • a discharged phone (“discharged phone from smuggler camp”)

Vehicles

  • Locked car: 9mm rounds (“civilization may collapse, but 9mm somehow survives”), a Glock silencer, a power bank, junk.
  • Fire rescue car (its container is oddly named “Police car”): two syringes. The fire axe on it can’t be picked up.
  • Police cars: the key to the police station may be in one (see main quest).
  • Any car trunk is a “Storage” container with 8 slots, handy as a stash.

Tool stash

One stash held an axe, backpacks, a rake, a grenade, a crowbar, a screwdriver (“electric screwdriver, it can be used to connect electrical devices to each other”), a hammer and a wrench.

What Locals drop

Locals have names: their bodies show up as containers called Mary Nguyen, Kenneth Wilson, Dorothy Taylor or Scott Miller. They drop power banks, wire coils, wood (20–80), metal scrap, duct tape, medkits and bandages, and an electric combiner. One even carried a solar panel.

Stacking

Junk and juice don’t stack. Medical items stack up to three. In general, stack size depends on weight, and the inventory limit is weight too: “Not enough space in inventory” can appear with slots still free.
